Our Wellbeing Forum focus for May is one that is sure to have affected all of us throughout the COVID-19 pandemic: change and uncertainty.

Join us for our monthly Employee Wellbeing Forum at 2pm Thursday 19 May, where Monash Health’s Dr Nathan Alkemade will discuss change and uncertainty in the workplace and strategies to help individuals and teams cope in a dynamic environment.

Dr Alkermade is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, Cranbourne CCT and Psychology Discipline Senior, Clayton Adult Mental Health.

Dr Alkermade has been at Monash Health for almost 4 years. In his role as Senior Clinical Psychologist, he provides evidence-based, best practice psychological assessments and interventions to consumers, particularly those with chronic and/or complex presenting issues.

Dr Alkemade also offers secondary consultation to the team and a broad range of relevant stakeholders regarding the formulation, treatment and management of patients.

As a Psychology Discipline Senior, Dr Alkemade undertakes direct patient and client services and works closely with the Director of Psychology to represent the psychology profession and assist in the implementation of professional governance.

In his roles, Dr Alkemade facilitates psychology professional development opportunities for psychology teams, and is a supervisor for psychologists, psychology registrars and students.

Monash Health’s Be Well Program

Dr Alkermade is a part of the team that delivers Monash Health’s Be Well Program. The Be Well Program is a free and confidential service available to support employee and team wellbeing.

The program can be utilised for regular team check‐ins, support following a critical event, learning strategies to promote mentally healthy teams and facilitating team wellbeing sessions.

To access the program, team leaders are encouraged to contact the Be Well Program to discuss their team’s needs and to book a session.
