Nurse Manager Janine Maloney, Monash Children’s Lagoon/Forest COVID ICU, has been named the 2022 Monash Health Nurse of the Year. Janine also picked up awards for Leadership in Nursing and Midwifery Practice and a Nursing/Midwifery Team Award as part of the Forest COVID Team.
“Janine led the Forest COVID team with the three C’s of leadership: communication, collaboration and commitment. She always kept the patient at the centre of the care and was a constant and comforting voice behind PPE during very upsetting times.” said Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Katrina Nankervis.
Celebrating NAMAS
Our nurses and midwives celebrated the 16th Annual Nursing and Midwifery Awards and Scholarships on International Nurses Day – Thursday 12 May 2022 with a range of outstanding winners.
Board Chair Dipak Sanghvi and Chief Executive Andrew Stripp opened the awards thanking our nurses and midwives for their hard work and dedication throughout this remarkable year.
“Some of my favourite moments in this time, have been when I’ve been able to speak to you during our employee forums and hear directly about the excellent care you’ve provided. The innovation and persistence you have shown is remarkable.” said Chief Executive, Andrew Stripp during the ceremony.
“I am incredibly proud of all nurses and midwives, clinical and non-clinical, in all areas and specialties – we are one Monash Health. I don’t envy the judging panel who have had to make the decisions about the winners of the 16th Annual Nursing and Midwifery Awards and Scholarships. The calibre of entry has been outstanding.”
The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the work of Monash Health nurses and midwives and recognise the significant achievements of individuals and teams in another challenging year.
Congratulations to all the nominees and award recipients.
