Collectively as Australians we check our phones 569 million times a day. Although devices provide us with useful tools, they have become tangled up in almost everything we do. Phone use has measurable effects on issues ranging from rates of depression to the road toll.
This month’s instalment of the Digital Wellbeing series starts the conversation about changing the way we use devices. Remember: you own the phone, the phone doesn’t own you.
Available for all our employees, the Digital Wellbeing Series by the Resilience Project includes ten 3-minute videos covering topics including gratitude, empathy, and mindfulness.
Each month we will put the spotlight on a different topic and share new strategies you can introduce into your daily routine to prioritise your health and mental wellbeing.
Access the Digital Wellbeing series
To access the Digital Wellbeing Series and to watch the video on ‘Devices’, log in to LATTE and search ‘The Resilience Project’ under the ‘Find Learning’ tab.
To learn more about The Resilience Project, visit their website. For more information, resources and log in details for the Digital Wellbeing Series, visit the Monash Health COVID-19 employee website. Keep an eye out for next month’s spotlight: ‘Social Connection’.
You can access all 10 topics of the Digital Wellbeing Series. However, the monthly spotlights aim to help you focus on one topic at a time. To make new lasting habits, it is important to start small, add in one change at a time and to remain consistent. If you feel more comfortable, you can complete all modules in your own time.
