Next Thursday 8 September is R U OK? Day, and last week, we shared some tips on how to ask the question and keep the conversation going every day.
There are many ways you can commemorate the day and continue to prioritse your health and wellbeing and the wellbeing of your colleagues and loved ones.
Join our special employee wellbeing forum
- Join us on R U OK? Day, Thursday 8 September at 2pm where special guest speaker, Wayne Schwass, will join us to lead a discussion on the importance of prioritising your own wellbeing and making long-term investments for your health.
Show your commitment
- Encourage your team to wear yellow clothing or accessories on the day.
- For areas that receive an R U OK? Day resources pack, display and distribute the promotional items provided in the pack across your team and around your area.
- Use sticky notes to make a ‘compliments’ or ‘kind messages’ wall in tea rooms or shared break areas.
Continue the conversation
- Discuss with your colleagues and teams what asking R U OK? means and how you can support each other with meaningful conversations and frequent check-ins.
- Familiarise yourself with the four steps to ask the question R U OK? every day and encourage these conversations with your team at your team meetings, huddles, and handovers.
- Organise a time to catch up, check in, and have a chat with your team, this can be both online and in small groups.
Get involved and enter the competition to win!
- Send through photos of how you are celebrating RUOK? Day with your team and tell us how your team is supporting each other every day, all year round.
- All entries have the chance to win a one-hour relaxation and meditation session for your team.
- Send your photos and story to our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator, Gaynor Henderson at gaynor.henderson@monashhealth.org
Please ensure you adhere to COVID-19 group gathering guidelines, uniform requirements in clinical areas and infection prevention measures when undertaking R U OK? Day activities.
