Thank you to those who supported Wear It Purple Day!

At Monash Health our LGBTIQA+ subcommittee remains committed to removing barriers that impact our patients, employees, community and visitors.

On Friday 25 August, we celebrated Wear It Purple Day—an annual day dedicated to showing support for LGBTQIA+ youth.  We thank all our employees who got involved and put on their favorite shades of purple or decorated their office or ward in purple to show our commitment to fostering an inclusive and accepting environments for all.

Thanks to the support of Maxxia those that sent in a photo went into the draw to win one of three coffee machines for their team, winners will be contacted directly in the coming week.

Acting chair of the LGBTIQA+ subcommittee Chirag Lodhia acknowledged the commitment of all those who got involved and reminded all employees of the ability to order name badges with your pronouns.

“It was so great to receive so many images with teams and individuals proudly wearing purple in celebration of Wear It Purple Day. This small gesture helps show our commitment to fostering a more inclusive and accepting environment for all.

Another way employees can continue to show their commitment is by ensuring the correct use of pronouns. We recently updated the Monash Health PROMPT procedure to ensure pronouns can now be included on name badges. To learn how to order a new name badge with your pronouns visit the PROMPT procedure available here.” Said Chirag.
