Don’t miss your chance to submit your experiences of the pandemic in the Monash Health COVID-19 Anthology.
Submissions are being accepted until this Friday, 22 December 2023.
The experiences of our healthcare workers during the heights of COVID-19 were unique, diverse, and for many, life-changing.
We provided world-class healthcare in circumstances that many would never have foreseen. Despite the apprehension and challenges faced at work and in their personal lives, our healthcare workers provided exceptional care to our patients and community throughout, innovating, and changing to meet every new challenge.
It is for this reason we wish to capture and honour them by creating a Monash Health COVID-19 Anthology.
The anthology will capture this remarkable time through a collection of documented experiences. This can be through any medium relevant to the individual or group, and may include poetry, short stories, artwork, songs, music, photographs, excerpts and quotes. Together, it will capture the lived experiences of Monash Health healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Submissions for the anthology are now open, and can be submitted here (please note there is a 1,000 word limit for all submissions).
The guidelines for submissions are:
- All submissions must adhere to Monash Health Policies and Procedures and will undergo a review process prior to inclusion
- Consent to participate is required
- Advise if you prefer your submission to remain anonymous
While this is an important way to document and capture experiences, we understand it may raise difficult emotions for some. Participation in the anthology is completely voluntary. The Monash Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to all employees who require support in their work or personal life.
The pandemic has been a significant moment in history that has impacted all those who travelled through it and will continue to shape our future. It is our hope this anthology will represent our accumulated memory; our unique Monash Health COVID-19 story and will serve as a reminder of the amazing achievements of healthcare workers during this time.
