At today’s employee forum, Chief Operating Officer Martin Keogh awarded another of our STAR Awards for Quarter 3 2021. The winner in the Managing Wisely category is the LED Replacement Program at Monash Medical Centre.

The LED Replacement Program was led by Malcolm Wright and implemented by our electricians, Graeme Herbert and Chris Jaquiery, at Monash Medical Centre.
The new technology is more efficient, cost-effective and allows Monash Health to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
An LED light lasts 5 to 10 times longer than compact fluorescent lights or halogen, meaning we don’t have to change the bulbs as often.
The LED replacement lights contain an integrated diffuser, eliminating the risk of falling objects, providing a safer work environment.
Through this project, the Engineering team have reduced Monash Health’s greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of electricity usage for one year in 35 homes or a single petrol car driving over 788,000km. Well done Engineering team!
Tune in to our weekly employee forums to see more of our STAR winners. If you know someone who should be recognised, head to the STAR Portal to nominate them today. To learn more about our STAR Program, visit the Monash Health COVID-19 website.
