Sometimes a few moments are all it takes to reduce stress and improve your sense of wellbeing.
The Be Well program is made up of Monash Health psychologists who support Monash Health teams. They have plenty of simple interventions you can practice during your workday to reduce stress and promote mentally healthy teams.
Take two minutes to try this simple technique:
- Ground yourself by looking at your surroundings
- Name five things you can see
- Name four things you can feel
- Name three things you can hear
- Name two things you can smell
- Name one thing you can taste
If you feel calmer after taking a moment to focus on your senses, why not share the technique with your colleagues. Or even better, reach out to the Be Well program to facilitate a wellbeing session for your team. You can also download the Be Well with Mindful Moments poster for your breakroom, or the Be Well with Box Breathing poster for your desk.
Individual employees can talk to their managers if they feel their team could benefit from the support of the Be Well program.
Be Well is supported by the Department of Health to target employee wellbeing. It is a free and confidential service.
