Congratulations to our Excellence in Research, Teaching and Innovation STAR Award Winner

A big congratulations to Lisa Singer, our ‘Excellence in Research, Teaching and Innovation’ STAR Award winner.

This award is given to someone who develops innovative ways to improve the quality of health care and service delivery. This includes providing quality teaching and education, developing innovative approaches to enhancing care or service delivery, and undertaking research that brings about significant improvements in clinical quality and safety.

Lisa is the Clinical Lead at the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SECASA), a specialist sexual assault and family violence service.

“We provide specialty care to a vulnerable population,” explains Lisa.

Lisa was nominated for her excellent working setting up an Orientation Program for new team members, ensuring the education is accurate and appropriate for the service. She designed and set up the program and engaged with new employees while they were completing their onboarding and training, all while continuing her role as Clinical Lead.

“It’s my passion, I guess, to support new employees,” says Lisa. “So I developed a robust orientation program that encompasses their orientation from the first day they come to us and ongoing for the first six months, when their probation is finished, so they understand their role and how our service works.”

If you would like to nominate a colleague or team, you can do so at any time by visiting the STAR Awards portal. For more information about the STAR Awards program, visit the Monash Health COVID-19 website.
