Get in front of the flu – Vaccination is free exclusively for employees

At Monash Health, we have made it easy and free for employees to receive their Influenza vaccination.

For the past 8 weeks, we have provided clinics and roaming services for Influenza vaccination across all campuses and community sites at a wide range of times and days.

To date, 61.1% of employees have taken a few minutes out of their day to get vaccinated or complete the Monash Health Employee Influenza Declaration form online.

To all our employees who have been vaccinated for flu or have declared, thank you for arming yourselves, our workforce, patients and the community for the 2023 flu season. Especially with the early trends observed by Professor Rhonda Stuart, Director, Public Health and Infection Prevention.

If you missed out on your local and free employee Influenza vaccination clinic, we urge you to get in front of the flu for 2023 now. The free employee flu vaccination service is almost over which will greatly reduce the times when vaccinations are available to you. Here are your next opportunities to get vaccinated for Influenza for free:

You can also access flu vaccination through your local community services such as pharmacies, GPs and more. However please note that the cost of flu vaccination outside of our employee program will not be covered by Monash Health.

If you have received your Influenza vaccination somewhere else or are not participating for whatever reason, you must complete the online declaration form.

We recommend you have your Influenza vaccination as soon as you are able. It takes two weeks for immunity to develop after being vaccinated. The highest protection against influenza occurs in the first 3-4 months after your vaccination.

At Monash Health we expect all employees to receive their annual Influenza vaccine.

Managers and leaders, please take a moment to review the Flu Vaccination – BI Dashboard to check the status of your team members and encourage those that haven’t yet received their flu vaccination to do so as soon as possible.

For more information about the employee flu vaccination program at Monash Health, visit our Getting an Influenza (flu) vaccination page via the Employee Vaccination Hub. You will also find the answers to more frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the employee flu vaccinations.
